Terms of Use
Last updated 24 October 2026.
Agreeing to these terms
Gaushala (gaushala.app) is operated by Mayash Foundation. Using it means accepting these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use Gaushala.
Who can use Gaushala
You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
You sign in with a code sent to your phone. Use a number that is yours, hold one account, and keep your phone secure: anyone who can receive your codes can use your account.
What you report
Gaushala is a census. When you add a gaushala or report its herd, you confirm that you run it or work there with its permission, and that what you report is true to the best of your knowledge. The Community Guidelines set out what that means in practice.
You keep ownership of what you upload and write. You grant Mayash Foundation the licence it needs to store it, show it as described in the Privacy Policy, and use it to compile and publish census statistics. Photos are kept at full resolution because later versions of Gaushala may use them to count animals or describe breeds; the Privacy Policy will say so before that happens.
Census statistics compiled from many gaushalas belong to Mayash Foundation. They are published only in aggregate.
Gaushalas and their rosters
A gaushala's admins decide who is on its roster and with which role, and are responsible for whom they invite. A gaushala counts in the census only after Gaushala's reviewers approve it, and approval is not an endorsement of the gaushala, a certificate, or a statement that it is registered with any authority.
Payments
Gaushala takes no payments and sells nothing today. Buying and selling will come later, and will have its own terms when it does. Donations to Mayash Foundation are made on mayash.org, under its own terms and its Cancellation and Refunds policy.
What you may not do
- Report false herds, or a gaushala that does not exist.
- Impersonate another person, gaushala or organisation.
- Upload content that is obscene, harasses someone, invades someone's privacy or infringes someone else's rights.
- Do anything unlawful, including harming a child.
- Interfere with Gaushala, scrape it, or try to reach data you are not allowed to see.
Removing content and accounts
Gaushala may reject or suspend a gaushala, remove content, or suspend an account that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines. You can raise a complaint about any such action through the grievance process. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days.
No warranty, and the limits of our liability
Gaushala is provided as it is. Herds and gaushalas are reported by their own people, and census figures are only as accurate as those reports. To the extent the law allows, Mayash Foundation is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Gaushala.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of India.
Changes to these terms
The date at the top of this page changes whenever this document does. Continuing to use Gaushala after a change means accepting it.
